Lifelong resident of cortland county. I applied for my handgun permit in early January and I am still waiting.... Just got the call for the interview from the state police last week.

Does anyone know how long after the interview are the permits issued?

Welcome! Not sure what the current wait time is following the interview, but when I got my permit a few years ago, it only a few weeks. Then again the entire permit process only took 90 days then. Recent permits are taking much longer as you have found out.

he investigator usually rights up their report pretty quick but it can take awhile for the judge to sign off on the permit. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there.
