Hello all. I'm a native New Yorker--originally from the Bronx--but have been living in the Pacific Northwest for the last 10 years, where I have become a bit of a gun buff. Work will soon bring me back to New York State--to the Elmira-Corning area. I'm a bit unhappy that I'll have to leave my handguns behind; hopefully I will be able to get a handgun permit after establishing residency. Is there anyone here from Steuben County who can give me an idea of what to expect? What are the prospects of obtaining a permit?
Also, I presume that it will be OK for me to bring my rifle and shotgun with me when I come, but I would like to confirm this. Thanks in advance for your advice.
