NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - There have been mixed results in New York City's efforts to reduce gun violence.

Some precincts, which have gotten special attention and extra patrols, have had good news to report. However, as CBS 2's Tony Aiello reported, the news citywide was bad with shootings on the rise.

It's been a quiet few weeks in Canarsie, something that residents credit to an increase in cops being assigned to patrol the 69th Precinct.

It's time for the people of NYC to demand that either the PD start issuing permits or it's time for lawsuits over Sullivan , no matter how they keep spinning the results , it only goes to show that the people do it better, cheaper and then all the PD has to do is show up with either the ambulance or the coroners wagon cause the PD isn't getting the job done !

Funny how they do not mention the safe act in their reports when gun violence is on the rise in NYC. Then incredibly we hear how the safe act has made NYS so much safer in anti-gun specific reports.
