On a blackberry and can't watch the video, but judging by the title I'm assuming its legit. God bless all those who are serving now, served in the past and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Enjoying a great weekend camping on Lake George with great friends watching the Blue Moon rising over the east shore made possible by many sacrifices over the past couple of centuries. God bless America. There I go waving my flag again, sorry guys just part of my soul.

I can't even watch people in that much pain it bothers me, I only made it like 2 minutes in.

I don't know what to say I just hope they all know that there are still people who recognize their sacrifice, I know plenty of people my age who don't even grasp the concept of military service and what it means, my friend leaves for Afghanistan in the upcoming months, this will be his 4th time going to the middle east, his 5th time deployed overseas, and I hope he isn't in any combat zones.

I actualy agree with scars for once (been awhile lol) these superfluous conflicts we have had for the last 24 years of my life have only showed our stupidity towards common sense. When I hear " let's go kick some ass! " all I hear is lets destroy property waste billions of dollars and let our men and women DIE needlessly, to only rebuild what we destroyed and send aid into that land that doesn't go to the people who deserve/need it.
I'm NOT knocking our military!! I am VERY proud of our Armed Forces. I just wish things could be handled differently. We have our own problems, other countries will be alright, they have been for years, get us unfocked first! /end rant:flag::flag:

What a waste. Anyone who supports these wars should be ashamed of themselves.

Uhmmmm were we not attacked by a group based out of Afghanistan? Didn't the government of Afghanistan support and harbor that group? Didn't we tell Afghanistan to give up the guy responsible or there would be consequences? we fight untilt the enemy has lost the desire or the capability to continue fighting. Now that being said; If I had been president on 9/11 I would have turned Afghanistan into a nuclear wasteland.

The war would have ended a lot sooner had our politicians not told us what we could and could not kill or destroy.

you misenterpreted what I meant, if we nuked the country we would be spending trillions cleaning up nuclear waste, trillions on reperations to other countries for causing cancer etc. Conflicts are a joke, if a "group" of people caused a problem then you form a team like oh I dunno the navy seals to go in destroy that group and leave unknown. Do we have those capabilities? yep! Do we do that? nope! we send these poor kids overseas to basically sit and wait to be shot at and ONLY if the targets are within range of no collateral damage may we engage them. That's bullsh1t!! Understand where I am coming from, I lost three very very good friends and a cousin in Irag/Afganistan, meaninglessly. These poor kids don't stand a chance because of all the bureaucracy infused dipsh1ts trying to play god. /end rant

Well, you said the last 24 years, so you're obviously including Desert Storm in there. Go read the book, The Rape of Kuait. I served in Desert Storm. I personaly had Kuaiti citizens come up to me and hug me and thank me for saving their country. Those same people looked me in the eye and said I was welcome in their home anytime. A big deal for muslims from what I understand. Don't tell me it was about oil, (most people have that opinion). You have no idea what you're talking about. I was there. You obviously were not. I get sick of arm chair quarterback sitting back spouting off their opinion about things they have no clue about and then waving the flag and saying "but I support the troops".

Sorry.......just rubbed me the wrong way.

Being there doesn't give you insight as to why we there. It gives you a better understanding of the peoplel there, but that has nothing to do with our govts motives. Our govt allows homeless vets to die right here in the USA, you think they give a **** about the people in another nation? Really? Heads up. They do not. I am not debating the rightness of liberating Kuwait, the people there STILL thank us every day they see us. But trusting anything our govt ever says is as bad as believing every conspiracy theory.

Really? Don't tell me that. I knew exactly why I was there. I don't think you were involved in the briefings we received before our deployment. You're statement impIies that members of the military just blindly go to war and do whatever their told. That offends me as i'm sure it would many veterens. Give us more credit than that. When is the last time you shook the hand of a soldier just returning from deploynent? When is the last time you looked him in the eye and told him you respected him or her fro willingly going into harms way? I'm not talking about bashing the government and war and than making the statement "Oh, but I support the troops"!

I have to ask; Just why would we have to clean it up? You are upset we are nation building over there now, why would you have us clean up the wasteland? I have been to Afghanistan and have lost more friends than I can count on both hands. Don't insult Service members by calling them kids. These men and women going over there have more guts than anyone I know. And they have all volunteered to serve during a time of war, that not only takes balls but it takes a great sense of selfless service to the nation. They saw what happened on 9/11 and they wanted to do something about it. Not just sit back, drink beer and wish they had done something.

I alwasy told my Soldiers, "The military fights for everyone's right to act stupid in public. Be proud of the fact that the "hippies" are protesting while you are fighting, then go home and screw their girlfriends so that she will know what a real man feels like."

not to start trouble but...everyone in our country supported the invasion of Afghanistan. At the time it was the right thing to do. Democrats, Republicans and everyone inbetween wanted vengeance for the attacks of 9/11. Its not "Bush's War" or his "fault". If Ronald McDonald or Barney were president, they would of invaded that country after the attack. I hate hearing "Obama inherited it".

And whether troops want to agree with the reasons of going to war, when ordered they fall in line and go as they are ordered. They can voice their opinion, but then they end up in a hot mess like that Marine who was sent to get a psych eval because he spoke out against Obama.

ETA: that said, i dont think we should still be there, or in Iraq. Ive got more than a handful of cousins and close friends that have served in both wars, multiple deployments. Going in they were all gung ho. After returning from the 1st and 2nd deployments, they just wanted out...both out of going overseas to the wars, and out of the military overall. Its incredibly taxing on the troops to serve multiple times overseas in a row. Right now I think we are demanding a bit much from our military with everything thats going on all across the world.

Anyone who defends the war in Afghanistan using 9/11 are simply blind to the fact that we were attacked due to our involvement in the middle east for the last 60 years. Yes, it's true the Afghan government aided the terrorists who attacked us (btw, the majority of those involved were Saudi), but the attack wasn't an act of war. It was a criminal act and should have been treated as such. Going to war in Afghanistan just perpetuated the acts that caused 9/11 to begin with. You don't put out a fire by pouring more gasoline on it.

There are plenty out there in the world who commit acts of evil and deserve to be snubbed out, but it's not our job to do so and it doesn't further our freedom one bit, it just exposes us to more danger.

If you REALLY want to support the troops, here's a bit of advice; stop advocating their decent into the meat-grinder.
