2- Train hard and perfect your tactics
3-The mindset will come along

With a handgun you need to aim and get very good at that.
With a shotgun you point, pull the trigger and forget. ...and more times than not the job is done.

Facts:
Pumps are affordable and supereliable. 20 ga. is perfect size for wife and kids. If you do not like the pump get a benelli M2 or even one saiga. Make sure they are reliable with the mags and loads you choose and you are good at reloading. Don't wait for the day you need them to find out.
Any shotgun alone is not going to do anygood w/o some good training for those that are potentially going to use it.
Most folks agree, there is no stopping power as a #4 buckshot inside a home at close range. Point and whatever is in the path say bye bye.
