How does it hold up to gun cleaner? I did mine w/paint markers....comes off when you clean the gun. Did you put it on, then half dry try to wipe it off the slide but leave it in the engravings?

No idea for the long term, but I had to spray oil on it to get the finish back (the nail polish remover dries the hell out of the slide) and it remains. 2 days of sweaty hiking CCW and it still remains. It has 6 coats in it, so if it does start to come off, I can just throw on another coat or 2 in 10-15 minutes.

I used whiteout on mine, it came out great. I used a credit card to scrape off some of the excess.

I used nail polish remover to clean up the remaining excess missed by the card and it ended up leaving a white hue on my slide. Any ideas on how to get that off? (I know its not pain removed from the slide itself, it did the same thing to my magazines. note to future self: just use white nail polish)

Did you use acetone free polish remover? That seems to be mentioned as important in the videos I've seen.

It did contain acetone. I read on another forum I was suppose to.

+1 to the acetone free. I made sure I got Acetone free as per instructions.

If you don't want in to be permanent you can use a white crayon to get the same effect, without the worry of cleaning the excess. To clean the excess crayon just use your favorite gun cleaner sparingly.

I did the same thing with my glock using white out. It lasts a pretty long time, even through the sonic cleaner.
