Any Glock armour out there that can give me some advice? I had a friend of mine install the 3.5 connector with the NY1 trigger spring on my old Glock 19. This is only going to be used at the range. I read it gave a much nicer trigger pull. The issue is the 19 will not go into battery when I pull the slide back. It won't load a round. When I press the slide release it loads just fine. Everything else seems to be working fine. I stripped the entire frame and can't seem to find the issue. Maybe he did something to the slide? I was not really paying attention to what he did. Any ideas on what the issue might be? I have not stripped the slide but I'm sure I could figure it out if the issue is there.

Thanks.

None of the modifications you mentioned are in the slide unless you changer out the plunger. plunger spring or firing pin spring so i would leave the alone.

It sounds like somethings out of place and in rear part of the frame where the connector is. I would double check that. (what brand is the connector? Do they have issues) If the problem persists I would put it back to stock configuration to see if there is an issue with the aftermarket parts. Unfortunately glocks are so common everyone and their mother makes springs and trigger kits and not everyones quality control is up to par if the smaller places even have a QC process at all.

I put it back with the stock parts, and the issue continues. I recall him going into the slide then saying "wait, I don't have to mess with this." Maybe ne messed something up in the slide. I will look into it.

I'd take it to a gunsmith or a local shop with glock experience before it gets made worse. The last thing you want is to damage it so it's inoperable

I am an actual, really - no sh*t Glock Armorer....Stop taking it to people that think they can work on Glocks! LOL
Call or email me. I can walk you through it or get you in touch with Mike who can probably get you running.

BTW: The 3.5 connector only makes the trigger release at about 4lbs. Only a tad bit lighter than the stock 5.5lb one. The 'feel' will still be the same.

If only any of them existed around here! haha Maybe I will just rebuild the darn thing and learn of glocks work. I was shocked at how easy they are to strip when I was forced to learn.

I was kind of just trying things out on it as it will only be a range gun. I am enjoying learning about Glocks. I just wish I could figure this one out! I will strip the slide and see what's going on. I will let you know how it goes. Taking this one apart made me like them even more. Simplicity at it's best. I have a feeling the guy put the plunger in wrong or something.

I have some bad news on your course on Nov 3rd in Greene. I am being forced to attend a wedding. Not a good thing! I will be on the look out for more training in the Broome county area though!

Update:

The pins were inserted in the wrong order and the slide stop spring was messed up. I ordered a new one and everything is working as it should now.

Ouch.

Next time.....get in touch with Mike or myself. We won't put it back together the wrong way!

Everyone: Even though they may seem simple, never let someone work on your gun unless you are absolutely sure that they know what they are doing. There are way too many 'gun plumbers' out there that will do more damage than good.
