The way I understood, and interpreted, the changes (at least for NYC) was that the previous CCW holders would be granted immunity from training until the next renewal. Then everyone has to comply with the new training requirement. It actually seems that NYC and NYS are uniting for the licensing.
I filed my app in July for CCW in NYC and have been notified by email to await the next email for Fingerprinting appointment.
I already have a Premise License and I am an FFL Class 7 Manufacturer.
Believe it or not, Making guns and selling guns is not a good reason for need in NYC (that was before SOTUS.:)

I'll keep you all informed.

I find this interesting and will be anxiously waiting for future replies from NYPD licensing.
I know I'm being an #ss, but I plan on challenging the Fingerprint Requirement and Fee. I already have a license, I have been Fingerprinted for the license, I Think I'm The Same Person.

When I got the Rifle Shotgun and Pistol license, I only paid one Fingerprint fee for both. It was obvious then that was the same person applying for two licenses.
So why should I have to do it and pay for it again?
NYC NYPD uses the Fingerprinting appointment to do the Interview also. That's why I am interested to see how this plays out.
The way I see it, my FFL is platinum, and anything else is below it

I always comply with laws, it's just the bad ones we have to change.

Stay Safe and Enjoy Life.

I found what I'm talking about on the NYPD sitre:
Q: Does the training requirement apply to me?
A:
If you are being issued a concealed a concealed carry license on or after September 1, 2022, you must submit proof of completed training. This means that you must complete the training even if you submitted your application BEFORE the September 1, 2022 effective date of the new State law. For additional information please see Questions Q11-Q18 HERE
Thanks for this info. I myself also have a premise house permit and looking on what it takes with the new laws to get ccw in nyc. Been trying to call 1pp with no luck. I’m assuming from this post I would need to apply for a new license and take the 18 hour course. Just have one question when you fill out new application which carry option is the correct one for ccw?
Thanks

Exactly.
It may be a pain but will save time in the long run.

I think I'm exempt until the next renewal, but my classes will be this November.

Sorry, I missed the question:
Carry Business. The license no longer exists for new licenses, but it's the only one close to unlimited.

Sorry it’s just so frustrating and confusing.
My question is if I apply now for a carry concealed which license in the application online am I selecting that I’m applying for?

New York City has an Unrestricted Pistol License which is Full Carry. A Business Carry is not Full Carry.
this is from the NYC NYPD site: I really never heard of 'Unrestricted Pistol License'

PREMISES LICENSE
: This is a restricted type of license. It is issued for your residence or business. The Licensee may possess a handgun ONLY on the premises of the address indicated on the front of the license. Licensees may also transport their handguns and ammunition in separate locked containers, directly to and from an authorized range or hunting location. (For hunting, an endorsement from NYPD License Division is required, in addition to a New York State hunting license). Handguns must be unloaded while being transported.
CARRY BUSINESS LICENSE: This license permits the carrying of a handgun concealed on the person. It is valid for the business name, address, and handguns listed on the license. It is not transferable to any other person, business, occupation, or address, without the written approval of the License Division's Commanding Officer. This license may also be issued for safety reasons unrelated to business.
LIMITED CARRY BUSINESS LICENSE: This is a restricted type of license. The licensee may only carry handguns indicated on the license in accordance with the specific limitations listed thereon. At all other times, the handgun must be safeguarded within the confines of the address listed on the front of the license, either concealed on the licensee's person in a proper holster or stored unloaded in a locked safe.
SPECIAL CARRY LICENSE: The Special Carry License is valid for the business name, address and handguns listed on the license, only while the licensee has in his possession a valid carry county license issued according to the provisions of article 400 of the N.Y.S. Penal law. Upon the revocation, suspension, or cancellation of the basic county license, the Special Carry License is rendered void and must be immediately returned to the License Division. (For Retired Law Enforcement officers who wish to apply for a Special Carry handgun license, follow the instructions listed below-“INSTRUCTIONS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT (NON-NYPD) RETIREES WHO RESIDE OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK CITY”).
CARRY GUARD LICENSE
: (security guards, etc.) This is a restricted type of license. Applications for this type of license must be made with the documentation provided by a company's gun custodian. It is issued only for the handgun listed on the license. The handgun may be carried only while the licensee is actively engaged in employment for the company whose name appears on the license and/or while licensee is in transit directly to or from residence and place of employment. At all other times, the handgun must be stored unloaded in a locked container, at either the address on the license or at the employee's legal residence (within the State of New York).
RIFLE/SHOTGUN PERMIT:
This permit is issued for the possession and purchase of rifles and shotguns.
LAW ENFORCEMENT RETIREE LICENSE:
This type of license is for retired Law Enforcement Officers.

Hi guys - i hope someone finds this information helpful or at least hopeful…

I did receive my Full Carry license in the mail this week - from Westchester County.

I filed an amendment to change restrictions (from Target to Full Carry) the day after the ruling. I cited the ruling and self defense.

I had been a “restricted” permit holder for 13 yrs.

There was no mention of additional training, etc. enclosed with the new license.

However, the new license, on the back, still has the clause about not being valid in NYC unless approved.

New York City Police have issued Unrestricted which is Full Carry.
Those who had them was Anthony Cumia of Opie and Anthony.
About 6 years ago a scandal took place. A politically connected guy and a transgender attorney caught paying cops to expedite pistol license that were Unrestricted Carry. With the new CCIA law requiring training all the counties are having applicants hand over social media accounts as part of the application process.

I should add that no one asked for social media accounts either.

Maybe the process has changed post 9/1/22.

But again to reiterate, no new training, no social media - just a normal amendment form.

But you did fill out the freedom of information form from the county which basically gave them the right to look at anything they wanted to .

apply for Business Carry for NYC
Thanks I started the online application for business carry. Anyone can help with how to answer question in part 12 when they ask

Provide a statement explaining in detail why you need the requested handgun license

Provide a statement acknowledging that the handgun may only be carried during the course of and strictly in connection with the applicant’s job, business or occupational requirements

Provide a statement explaining the manner in which the handgun will be safeguarded by the employer and/or applicant when not being used

Is there any possibility that in the future we can carry our pistols in NYC with our WC Pistol Permits ?

You will need an appointment with 1PP to submit your application to have a NYC Pistol License. They will require social media accounts and the 18 hour training.
A pistol license clerk was saying on the news that anyone with an unrestricted pistol license is now able to carry concealed in all of New York including NYC.

Cumia is moving to South Carolina in a month or two, as did his family, brother Joe and sister Dawn. Anthony also said, when he did apply for carry in NYC, he spent almost $20K in legal expenses to get the license. In Suffolk county a huge problem is you can ask the same question to 3 different people at the licensing division and you’ll get 3 different answers.

Anthony made a boatload of money at Sirius until his early 4th of July morning photography in Times Square led to the end of O&A. His Compound Media cost him a fortune with Keith “The Cop” who had no experience in the entertainment business. Anthony was a big cop buff. He signed a year lease for his apartment and for the studio from what people are saying on the YouTube shows. He’s going to wrap up Compound Media from what it looks like after his lease is up.
