FFL regulations

I'm looking into starting an FFL in NY (not NYC).
I'm having trouble making sure that I know about all of the paperwork and regulations around firearms sale. Im familiar with the safe act and other laws in new York and what I can and can't sell and who I can and can't sell it to.
My question is more on my side of the paperwork. I know where to get 4473, and how to do one online. I know I need to keep inventory for all firearms and ammunition, but I don't know if there's a specific program I need to do that with, or if I can use any program I want.

It would be really helpful if there's a website or manual that walks me through everything I'd need to do.

Do you really want the hassle of the ATF visiting your home, and photographing your Record's ??
This is how the System works despite what you my opine
MaKe sure you know NYS does a separate license for pistols, rifle permits are now needed for semi autos and 21 years of age to sell. Also familiarize yourself with the new rules and regulations passed with the CCIA on FFL such as all guns locked up in secure storage when closed and security system that is monitored by an approved company. Also ammo background checks and the state police inspections, record keeping, and submission of some records as i understand it. It’s a mess and no way would I be an FFL in NYS and many will go under.

There are various licenses depending on what you want to do. Apply for the license "01 Dealer in Firearms" if you just want to buy and sell. BATFE will tell you what you need to know should your application be approved. Call your local BATFE office, they are there to help you.

Lots of BATFE info available using google.
