SOUTHEAST - An ex-New York City police officer was sentenced to probation this week after he was convicted of pulling a gun during a dispute with a disabled man who is also a former NYPD cop.

Mario Zeoli, 50, of Southeast was sentenced Tuesday to one year of interim probation. It means that even though he was sentenced to one year, he could have his sentenced reduced if he meets the terms of his probation and stays out of trouble. He will be back in Southeast Town Court in February.

He was convicted of menacing, a misdemeanor, and harassment, a violation, Putnam County District Attorney Adam Levy said.

I doubt it. It's up to the lic authority and the judge while on probation. They put active cops on the rubber gun squad, I have little doubt they would do it to a retired one.
What's the punitive application for this? I know it's different for NYC which would probably put you behind bars for decades citing Sullivan.. but what about Putnam and a regular joe?

There was another guy, an ex-Yonkers and Brewster town cop, who actually fired some shots inside his home in Mahopac a few years back. He was arrested and spent a number of weeks in jail. I recently heard he moved to Florida, and doubt he stills has his guns.
I'll try and find out more on this, if possible.

Edited: He was charged and served time as a felon, so NO he hasn't any guns.
