im thinking it was a hot load... or bad primer. never had this happen before.

in a remington 597 .22lr.. just got the gun in trade. had multiple stovepipes and this particular casing just about blew my ears off...

I have a 597, never had that happen. That looks like an ammo issue. Which ammo, have you tied others?

Bad ammo? My 597 wont' run the Remington golden crap, none of my guns will. is that what it was?

it was federal bulk... ran reming thundebrolts and had alot of stovepipeing...

in the 10 mins ive spent researching the gun it appears the VO extractor and hammer are well worth the investment...

anything i should look out for with this new 597. traded some paintball gear for it.

I've never used any special mods for my 597 and have 3k+ rounds through it.

is there a small hole on the underside of your bolt? its on the extractor side and i can barely see the bottom end of the extractor moving..... it looks like damage.
