notice how the gunman utilized the cover provided by the round desk from 4-5 ft back, which gave him the better angle on the officers who were stuck adjacent to their cover, which limited their ability to shoot from any stable positions
Looks to me like one cop is hit and drops off the bat. Then, once the bad guy jumps the counter, two others split - leaving a single cop to fend for himself. That lone cop slugs it out with the bad guy at point blank range, killing him, and getting shot in the face in the process.
I just don't get what those other cops were thinking.
