A few months ago, I contact a friend in Pittsburgh who dabbles in knife making , with my design and ask for his input.
We put our heads together and this is what he decided on..."The Scindo" (Latin for "cut, slice").
The main ideas behind the design are as follows:

1. At only 3 ounces (with Para-cord handle wrap), makes a great EDC for neck, belt or pocket carry via Ball Chain, Pull the Dot, small Tek-Lok or static cord.

2. Finger-hole allows for positive retention in either forward or reverse grip. Knife stays in-hand, even in CQC scenarios.

3. Great for quick, weak-side deployment. Essential if carrying a firearm.

4. Chisel-ground wharncliffe blade design is great for general utility use but also conveys devastating wound-channels while maintaining legal length requirements (2.75" long).

5. Constructed of CPM 3V steel at RC 60-61 delivers a shock-resistant blade with a razor-sharp edge. Easy to sharpen, even in the field.

6. Handle-wrap of durable 550 Paracord provides cushioned grip and an emergency length of nearly five feet of unbreakable line.

7. Acid-washed and tumbled finish with satin finish bevel.

8. Heat-formed Kydex sheath.

9. Completely hand-made in the USA.
Originally we made 3 protos out of A1, then proceeded to do a small run of 24 in which we sold out in a week...
Now we're on our 2nd run....

With the right heat treat on CPM3V,
Gets you one hell of a tough blade.
We did crack the lower part of the ring due to a stress riser which has been remedied in this batch.
Not that you would do this to a knife, but my heat treat guy stated "3v and our heat treat, you can pound this knife into cement"
Well we tried it.....

Got all the kydex pressed for the knives, polished the edges on half of them, finish that process in the AM, then its time to sharpen and wrap the handles. I'm really happy, only have 8 that are not spoken for.

I've been using the Edge Pro for more then 18 years, I've always found it to be an excellent sharpener, since Bill Yester and I have been making our Scindo knife, I've used the Edge Pro, but this run was just a little more then the Edge Pro could handle, thought I did 50 knives on it this run ,but it took quite awhile.
So after discussing this with Bill, I decide to give this a try, the AMK75, made in the USA.
Its a variable speed 1x30 belt sharpener, and it works, I received it Saturday and started out slow, and I was able to do 11 blades, finishing this morning, take into consideration that yesterday was football Sunday .It reminds me of an Edge Pro with a motor.

very cool to see an individual get this done... how much for one of these out of curiosity. i like knives, and while not a "collector" i do have a small handful.
