Six plus years after Heller and McDonald very clearly struck down gun bans and "clarified" for the numb skulls and fascists in both DC and Chicago that the 2A is an Individual Right, we find both cities are still playing games with their "permitting" schemes, dragging out the Infringement of the Rights of the People even when the highest Court in the land has smacked their hand and told them to stop.

And yet, folks in NY think that someday, the courts might give them a win and "restore" their Freedom to them.

Same as usual, the jurisdictions in question will continue to use taxpayer's money to make sure those same taxpayers can't exercise constitutional rights. And when they know they're on the wrong side they'll spend as much money as possible to delay.

It's amazing that most us missed the crucial part of the article , it Said the the council its Hoping that the bill will pas the demands of the court ! I'm betting that no matter what Bill they pass , if it doesn't pass the court it's not going to be enacted ! This is crucial part of these idiots plan ! It was also explained by Halbrook , that if they pass this bill , they can not appeal the ruling by the court so either they get it right or they lose in court twice without any means of appealing ! IANAL but it seems to me that this bill isn't going to pass the court even if there are other states with the same type laws ! This is going to do nothing but start another round of lawsuits that the city can ill afford ! Must be nice to an idiot !

Simple it is what I call Gun Biggetry, animus aimed at an Individual Right enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

If the substantive due process rights of a racial minority were being infringed, the courts would have over-ruled it yesterday (and for good reason), but BOTH party's appointee judges can p*ss all over the 2nd AM, re-write history and Constitutional standards before our eyes, and laugh in our face, and there is nothing we can do.
