I can't speat to CT, but Florida does not have a specific class - they require some training, and they have guidelines on what courses can satisfy that need. For example, hunter's safety course, or NRA basic pistol, will both satisfy their training requirements. Read up on FL, you may already be good to go for that state.

CT accepted NRA Basic Pistol for my non-resident permit. (I'm actually an instructor in it, but they didn't require that -- just certification that I'd taken the course.)

Anyone know where they do the CT/FL class so I can get their mon resident? Thanks
FL will accept literally any in-person course as long as in included live fire as is so stipulated on the course certificate or letter signed by the Instructor.

CT has a short list of approved courses, and also requires live fire. NRA Basic Pistol is on the list, as is my course the MA Pistol License Course. Google the CT Special Licensing & Firearms Unit, or see the CT page on handgun law.us for links.

Ideally, find one course that covers at least both.
