Just received my acceptance letter this afternoon in cortland county. The only bad thing is now I have to wait until Tuesday due to the holiday to buy my first handgun...

took 10 months to the day. And one week aft the interview with the state police.

Congrats, do you know what your buying?
My grandfather left me a 686 4" and I am looking to pick up a 22 auto and revolver. I am leaning toward the smith 22a and heritage 9 shot convertible. I know the heritage is lower quality than a single six, but for what I would use it for (pest control and fun at the range) I think the heritage will do just fine.

the last year I have been averaging about 1000 .22 rounds through my marlin model60, savage 64, and Henry lever action and if I ever want precision small caliber action I will go with those. The revolver would simply be for a good time and to take out random pests around the homestead.

plus a 26 year old guy who just bought a house has to think about $$ at the same time time.

Always open to suggestions/ thoughts/ comments
