335,000 from non-mass shootings in 10 years? They must be including suicides and accidental deaths in that figure. Gun homicides have been generally from 14k to 8k per year in that time period.

The figures I recall seeing are about 30k gun deaths each year in the US. Of that, around 50% are suicides. If the 335k number includes ALL gun related deaths over 10 years it sound about right.

Of other note, the same statistics also noted that something like 80-90% of the gun related homocides were criminal on criminal violence. Sorry I don't have a real reference available, but I believe it was FBI numbers.

With so many new and highly restrictive gun laws in NY and elsewhere, as well as the most underhanded efforts as Hardrada mentions to disarm the nation, I don't know that I'd be willing to go so far as to say we're winning. There are some interesting developments around though and even making their way into mass media. I will say for certain that these are crucial times for us all to be putting our all into retaining all of our rights. The Colorado recalls proved that WE are the ones who need to be working, not just sitting back and giving money to the NRA and crossing our fingers for the best. Everyone needs to keep the letters going out, keep making calls, and most importantly keep teaching the truths about guns to whomever will listen.

What I meant by winning was in regards to momentum compared to the sense of after Newtown. Obviously, I know we have quite a way to go.

Not convinced. Check out the last paragraph“If our lawmakers, including the President, won’t step up and make significant changes in gun laws, in gun registration, background checks, mental health, if gun purchases continue to grow and flood the streets, it makes me wonder that by some of us not owning a gun, or at least embracing the idea of one, are we setting ourselves up to be victims in a movie theater, a school, a public building, most of all in our streets, in our own neighborhoods, and in our own homes?,” he asked.

Sounds like he wants more gun control but realizes he may have to arm himself because gun control is hard to get through the govt.
beware the focus on handguns in his diatribe.

Bingo!

...and they are now using a new tactic of "use the path of least resistance".. in other words, we are soft (as is accepting) of the idea of mental illness. Sometimes natural laws apply to social laws as well. Watch the birdie, fella's.

Pelosi is 73 , Boxer is 72 and Feinstein is 80 proves you can't teach an old dogs new tricks. This is a perfect example of why female dogs are called B.....tches.

I think Pierce Morgan has done more for gun rights recently than any one person I can think of. He is constantly wrong , and nobody wants to be associated with misinformed misguided socialist.
