I've talked to a bunch of folks, who dont pay attention to this kind of stuff and had no idea they'd just been effed out of their CC rights.

I think we need to adjust our way of think on 2nd Amendment laws after the Bruen decision. This ruling did much more that strike down proper cause but changed the standard of scrutiny in which new and existing laws will be judged. This place a huge burden on states to show that the new law meets the standard of text as informed by history and tradition. It requires evidence that the new law will serve a compelling government interest. Much of what is in this new legislation does neither and any state or federal judge with an ounce of intellectual honest would have to strike it down or lose any degree of credibility. In addition, given this new level of scrutiny, I seriously doubt provisions of the SAFE Act will hold up. AR-15 and other similar firearms are used by tens of millions of people for lawful purposes. There is no evidence that banning them serves a compelling government interest. I'm expecting at some point that law is going to be challenged and struck down in light of Bruen.

That's exactly the problem with the conservatives.....The "It dosen't affect me, I don't care" attitude...I believe we (conservatives) are the majority in NY, We just need to get out and vote!!!! Turn this state RED!!!!

Yep, the new laws for CC process as well as the SAFE act will eventually be struck down. Just how long it will take and will we have to stop carrying for awhile after 9/1 is the question. Intellectual honesty is not part of being a socialist activist politician or judge, otherwise we wouldn't be going through what we are going through. They dislike and even hate the constitution as old and irrelevant and for some a racist and oppressive document. Seems like they don't live in the same country in their heads that I do.

Besides suing the heck out of the governor and the state, we need a big rally at Albany like we had for the Unsafe Act in March 2013. Has there been a rally organized after they passed these BS anti-gun laws? There was over 6,000 of us in Albany in front of the state government buildings in 2013, and it got a lot of Media attention. All the major News/Media outlets were there and later that night on all the prime time News stations. A couple of thousand of us were also roaming City Hall hallways visiting our state senator and Assemblymen/women before the rally. Trump had also shown up and given a speech and at the end announced running for the Presidential 2016 election. These 3 black SUV's with very dark tinted windows pulled up to the curb 12 feet from my wife and I. We were sitting on a bench by the sidewalk just beyond the large crowd that had gathered. To our surprise Trump came out of the car with his bodyguards and walked straight to us to shake our hand and say hello I never liked him much but I voted for him just for showing up and standing up for our rights and the 2nd amendment which he gave a pretty good speech on, and got the crowd going.
We need 20,000 or 30,000 of us there in the next rally to show them we mean business. I think a lot of people didn't show up in 2013 because it was "cold" around 35-40 deg. and it was a weekday so you had to take off from work. A September rally with 60+ deg. weather would be perfect and the attendance should be much greater than in March, but they also need to do a better job communicating and "marketing" the next Rally, because in 2013 we just heard about it 10 days before when we went to our Fish & Game (Gun) club meeting who had arranged for 2 buses to take us to Albany. That event should have been all over the web, like Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, newspapers, etc. and in gun forums, but it wasn't. I hope they do a better job with the next rally and we show up with some serious numbers.
