Cabelas Herters 30 carbine slickguns not a deal
So I saw the posting from slickguns about the Cabela's deal for the Herters 30 carbine ammo for $4.99 a box and $5 shipping if you spend more than $150.
Having an Inland M1 I jumped on the deal and bought 31 boxes or 1550rds of ammo to get over the amount listed to get $5 shipping. Awesome deal.

An obvious systems error, which has been corrected, did have the .30 Carbine 110gr FMJ ammunition shown online at a price of $4.99 instead of the correct price of $14.99.
Cabela's sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and confusion this unintentional error has caused.

When I saw that add I was wondering why I thought 7.62 x 39 ammo was a deal at 20 cents each, now we know.
Advertised price is advertised price. They should honor it.
So let's say you're selling you're car and list it for $14,999 but the ad comes out at $4,999 and you get a dozen calls within the hour because it was a good deal at $14,999 but hard to pass up at $4,999. Would you honor it? Suppose you could and then sue the newspaper, but I seriously doubt that would happen. Mistakes happen. People should accept that and move on rather than demanding a store sell at a loss due to their error. That would be the honorable thing to do IMO.
I agree it would not make sense for them to sale at that big of a loss but I think it would be good practice to at least make an effort to make the customer happy that wont lose the company money like offer free shipping on next order or a certain % off next purchase. At least to me that might go a long way with some customers so make everyone happy.
I do have to say that 14.99 for a box of 50 still isn't too bad although it does suck that they got your hopes up. If it was mislabeled a little higher (like 10.99) I could see asking them to honor it but at that price they probably would have actually lost money, most places that opt to honor their printed prices still at least break even with the few customers that got the deal (like lets say walmart) but ordering online is different, the entire world has access and can clear out your inventory in a few hours and you won't even know until it's too late. It does suck but I can understand them backing out this time around.
