I have not dealt much with installing bipods, but I am looking to install a harris bipod on a post 64 Winchester Model 70 in .300 win mag for long range hunting. The finish on the wood forend is worn/some flaking so I am not worried about drilling holes or making mods. How would I go about this process, install/level a rail, affix my bipod, done deal? Or is there more into this process than I am thinking?

They mount on a sling stud. You can also get an adapter to mount it on a rail but for what your looking to do it's not necessary.

Really easy to mount, just make surre since you are using it on a wooden stock that you keep it tight,it should line up fine and the foam padding on the mount will help hold it in place..!
