Got my full carry today, Judge was a gentleman . Brought us up three at a time asked name and address , told us to be safe and keep our guns locked up when not being used and removed restrictions. Only thing I said was my name and address , yes your honor and thank you. Anyone in Putnam should t have an issue . On another note people that messed up and had their permits revoked he was very tough on and hesitant on granting them thier permits back.

congrats, out of curiosity, what does it take to lose a permit in putnam?
Not to sure, they didnt go into specifics ,seemed to have been talked over with the lawyers beforehand .one guy sounded like he got into a argument and flashed a gun at someone, he didnt have a lawyer, denied him.Another had some sort of issue with an unathorized person getting hold of his gun and had to prove he bought a safe, he had a lawyer and got a restricted permit back.Basically if you do something unsafe or stupid . I was called early so I got in and out.

Thanks, just curious. What are you going to get as first purchase?

It pains me to offer congrats on being granted permission to exercise a fundamental right.... but we are in NY, so im glad you live in a county that allows you a bit more freedom.

My application has been sitting on a judges desk for over a week already, but being in westchester, and since the westchester county pd makes their own assessment and recommendation im not expecting much.

I lived most my life in westchester , I had never even bothered with a pistol permit. I moved to Putnam because it was getting to expensive to live in westchester . I found out after I moved here about the freedom of gun ownership .

I heard about that Friday down at the range. Someone got into an argument at a gas station with another person and flashed his gun. Goodbye permit. He's lucky to live in Putnam and not Westchester, he might have been taken straight to jail.
