The Marina Commission letter asked the board to contact legislators to seek funds to extend the trail.
Board members said they had no problem endorsing the idea but questioned references in the letter tying the project to the state gun control law known as the SAFE Act.
"A bike trail is a wonderful idea, but what does it have to do with the SAFE Act?" said Trustee Fred Hartmann.
Trustee Kalman Socolof said he would encourage seeking funds from local, state and federal sources for the trail, but did not see that the project was "related to other recent events."

It sounds like they are trying to divert funds from the sale of licenses to fund the bike path ! They have done so much of reappropriations this way it's almost illegal or criminal the way these folks operate . It's amazing how a bike path could be connected to a gun bill ?
