2 weeks ago I ordered a few things from Possum Hollow's "the cleaning and reloading store." I havent received any shipping notification and havent received anything in the mail yet; I've ordered from them before without any issues. So I started calling, left a message on the answering machine, and emailed the contact address on the website to find out what the status of my order was—but received no response from them. I finally talked to someone today when I called on my lunch break, and the guy told me that they dont have the stuff I ordered in stock yet. I basically got "parts might be in tomorrow."

Some will say that businesses have a lot to take care of and I shouldnt expect to be their first priority; but, this is a bit ridiculous. With this experience I can only assume that customer service is not much of a priority. At least let me know whats going on with my order I placed 2 weeks ago, and maybe update the website to reflect out of stock items....

I'm in the same boat with Loki Weapons systems. Ordered a barrel that said 2-3 weeks until shipment on their website. I ordered over the phone and they did not advise of a different wait time. A week later I had my CC# stolen and was issued a new card. I called Loki since they had not charged me yet. I gave them the new number and was told it was more like a 6 week wait. It's been about 14 weeks since I ordered. They don't return emails asking about the status. They have answered the phone a couple of times. Last conversation I had was after 12 weeks and I was told it should be a couple more weeks. I'm going to call again this week since it's been a couple more weeks and I have seen nothing.

If I had the rest of the parts I would be less patient. I'm completely fed up but what choice do I have other than cancel and get a barrel that I want less than that one.

Wow ... niacin, I would have said "Please cancel my order." and then not so politely informed them how they SUCK!!

Jeff ... That's horrible!! 12 weeks?? I'd be one of their more memorable irate customers at 3 weeks and probably would have cancelled the order. I'm one that believes patience is for those that don't want to get anything accomplished!! LOL I wish I had the patience you have at times though.

Just called again because I havent received anything yet, and got the same story as last week. I told him I'm giving it one more week before I cancel my order (because I really want my .308 trimmer.)

One can understand the frustration. My observations are that lately many manufacturers fail to inform about stock availability and they have total
lack of communication. They are over their heads and they know it but they do not say anything about it.
IMO and when possible, I think it is better to work with a reputable retailer that can provide stock on hand information, availability checks and furthermore will not take an order they cannot deliver otherwise will be clearly indicated like Midway's back order system, Brownells, etc...
Just to give you an idea how off manufactures are, an AR barrel that I ordered that was with an estimated deliver of 4 to 6 weeks took 7 months.
Even lothar walter custom shop that is an average of 3 to 4 months are a tad behind but at least one knows what to expect with those.
My feeling is that everyone is running out of stock and manufacturer's top priorities go to the big retailers so one's little order might come last after they fulfill those other big buck's orders.
The firearms industry is on fire. Everyone wants firearms, parts and ammo. Some reputable gunsmiths are taking orders with 6month to 1year lead time before they can get to your project. Manufacturers are great at advertising in their outline outlets and might have a great product but definitively thy are not good at sales, supply chain and customer relationship management. Hopefully the item is something that we do not need right away otherwise we need to arm ourselves with patience, lots of it.
Getting something in a reasonable time frame with proper status updates feels like a lottery these days.
