AFL-CIO declines to endorse Cuomo for re-election | New York Post

This is big. Camelot is crumbling.

ALBANY - Another powerful union group is taking a pass on next month's Democratic primary for governor so it won't have to endorse Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
The AFL-CIO decided Monday to back Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman - without mentioning Cuomo, who faces challenges in the Sept. 9 primary from Fordham Law Professor Zephyr Teachout and comedian Randy Credico, a perennial candidate.
Just last week, the New York State United Teachers also declined to endorse the governor.
The teachers, who are affiliated with the 2.5 million-member AFL-CIO, have been at odds with Cuomo over a teacher evaluation system and over his support of charter schools.
The snub by the AFL-CIO is the third by a major union group and perhaps the most stinging - since it backed him four years ago. The Public Employees Federation recently endorsed Teachout over Cuomo.

When an incumbent democrat governor can not get union endorsements, it is a GIANT opportunity.

That is not to say they won't endorse andy in the general election, but the damage is already done.
