Why do the leftists/socialists in this country try to take away our 2A rights? They claim it's to keep guns off the street or out of criminals hands. But if that were true why aren't they trying to keep people from buying a new car or truck. Cars and trucks are used against other drivers or people a lot as a weapon. Why aren't they at the DMV protesting that yet another citizen will possibly be committing road rage. People brake the law every day by speeding. Speeding is dangerous and could lead to someone getting hurt or worse. In their logic wouldn't it only make sense to stop us from buying new vehicles. And if none of us good citizens had access to a new vehicle then those that drive around without a license wouldn't do it anymore. Yeah right.

I don't think they're trying to take away our 2A rights for the reasons they claim!:( And sorry for the rant.

You think that they want guns banned because they are actually dangerous!? Lol. It's because they are scary. Facts, see:

AWB
Death Rates of Guns vs. other MUCH more lethal stuff, and compare that to anti groups that exist for each.
Statements like "That shoulder thing that goes up."
"Sporting Features" required.

The list could go on. Facts mean NOTHING in the lib world of fear mongering.

And AFA cars are concerned, they are the pussies that want 'smart' cars that need no driver participation. (because cars are dangerous AND inefficient)

They just step out of thier utopian house and a vehicle (on rail or sensing the chip in thier head) stops.
They climb in and give a destination and the car takes them where they want to be all while putting a tv in front of them to keep them amused for the ride and using solar power to shove it along at some nonsensical speed.
Kinda like a Johnny Cab in Total Recall, only cleaner and more flowers.
Perhaps more simular to the monorail in Farenheight 451, but allows for indiviaduals rather than mass transit.

BTW, try comparing guns to doctors sometime :)

Of course, the 'privilege' to drive causes more deaths than the right to bear arms in the USA:

There were nearly 6,420,000 auto accidents in the United States in 2005. The financial cost of these crashes is more than 230 Billion dollars. 2.9 million people were injured and 42,636 people killed. About 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minutes.
There were 52,447 deliberate and 23,237 accidental non-fatal gunshot injuries in the United States during 2000. The majority of gun-related deaths in the United States are suicides, with 17,352 (55.6%) of the total 31,224 firearm-related deaths in 2007 due to suicide, while 12,632 (40.5%) were homicide deaths (-- one homicide death every 42 minutes).
OK... one car death every 13 minutes, one gun death every 42 minutes. Furthermore, a person is injured in an auto accident every 11 seconds, vs a non-fatal shooting injury every 7 minutes.

Statistically, I'm safer at a gun range than I am at the DMV.

Go figure.

You would be safer at the gun range rather than driving there.

You are right! ... Even a mother in law is a weapon of myass destruction.
The problem is not even the 2A but the need for control. First is this, then is that and in a few years we will be all singing the perestroika.

Meketrefe is right, these people for lack of a better term (or one that won't be keyed out) are in every field, private and public looking for more ways to have more control over what people do. They probably dream about it. New regulations pushed against someones will is orgasmic to them! While we're busting our buts trying to make ends meet, they're sitting on some board somewhere pushing their agendas. Things need to get done before it's to late. Maybe if their lives were less cushy they would stop pushing their commie crap on us!:rant

You won't believe this!!! The authorities walked in my house, took away my metal knives spoons and forks as they said those were now considered a weapon ... those SOB's!!! I got them back though, I snapped my plastic spoon they provided me as a replacement and stabbed them in the azz with non-round end!! That'll teach 'em!!!

Of course that didn't happen but if they wanted to get REALLY technical and call all cars weapons, I'd run over them with my f'ing ATV!! If they took that away, out comes the lawn mower and if they take that away, the kids bicycle and if they took that away .. I'd wait for them to go swimming and rent a boat from Gunner and make me some chum!!! I hope he has a nice Checkmate with dual big blocks in it cause they would do some SERIOUS damage via the dual outdrives with stainless steel props and if you have it trimmed up aways, you'd have one hell of a "red roostertail" that would blow away any special effect you'd see in any movie!!! Of course this boat MUST HAVE marine modular thru-hull exhaust with at least 4" mufflers just because!! (Yes ...I think too much about anything and everything) See ... if there's a will there's a way!! Ain't nothing they can do that will prevent a criminal from obtaining guns .... as fast and furious proved huh??? In reality, the way I see it is, the more they take away, the more "criminals" THEY would/will produce!!

(oh and to not indicate myself, the above would not happen because I can't afford the friggin FUEL that the above boat mentioned would consume in the 15 minutes it would take to do such a thing!)

they make money off the gas that we have to run in our cars. they don't make money off the ammo we run in our guns.

Actually ... they do. I lost track of the bill, but obama and his cronies have a bill that would increase the already high tax on ammo AND guns 700% more than it is now. :(

Doctors are more dangerous than guns.

Number of physicians in the US: 700,000
Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year: 120,000
Accidental deaths per physician: 0.171

Number of gun owners in the US: 80,000,000
Accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) 1,500
Accidental deaths per gun owner: 0.0000188

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times moredangerous than gun owners.

FACT: Not everyone has a gun, but everyone has at least onedoctor.
