I have 1 pre ban AK mag 40 rounds thinking of selling it because i don't use it. What's it worth? As in here in NY on this forum seeing we can't just buy new ones and pre ban 40's are super hard to find

It depends entirely on what it is.

Chinese / Romanian / Bulgarian steel 40 round mags are not that hard to find.
Here's a recent gunsamerica listing. 4 preban chinese 40rd mags AND the pouch for $125.

If you have a rare mag like a preban soviet bakelite rpk 40 , then you'd be talking some decent money to a collector. Say somewhere between 150 and 200.

Otherwise, probably $35 max realistically.

I'm not sure if J&G would sell these to NY , but I'm pretty sure these are actually pre-bans going for $30

paid $40 for one brand new at a local store. i gave it to a buddy because it didn't feed my wasr but worked fine in his mak90. i'll stick to my reliable 30s all day long.
