This baby was waiting on my doorstep for me when I got home yesterday (I love my C&R). The barrel appears pretty worn but she'll get a match barrel and a new CMP Boyd's stock over the winter to make her a real shooter. We'll see how it shoots tomorrow at the swamps.

Is the barrel and stock original to the gun? Bc if they are don't change a thing!

Yes they are.

I shoot CMP matches and the sloppy old worn out wood kills most of the accuracy the gun might have....add that to the shot out barrel and it's almost useless. The original parts will be preserved to retain the value and collectability (I'm not a butcher) but without replacing the barrel and the sloppy old stock it will be nothing more than an old worn out wall hanger that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I believe these old girls should be used for shooting, not decorations.

+1 on tha C&R comment. Congrats!! For a '44 the parkerization looks real nice from the pics. Should do a NYF M1 Garand shoot one day. Or at least an NYF C&R firearms only shoot. Any folks near Orange county area?
