  1. Laws and Politics - Firearms/Self Defense/Weapons
With all the back-pedaling going on, how long will the original interview mp3 last? So, I've saved the entire html file to my 'puter - the audio MP3 file will be part of the download. I'm suggesting many of us do this, even if it is on Facebook. Do what you will, here's the URL Jan. 17, 2014...
  2. Rifles
This is my AR-15 Bushmaster, I bought it used and modded it to be some what of a survival type rifle. It has a paracord sling some survival stuff in the butt stock an emergency cleaning kit in the pistol grip. Right now its a giant dust collector because .223 is impossible to find and if you can...
  3. Laws and Politics - Firearms/Self Defense/Weapons
As I have watched events unfold since the SAFE Act was passed, I have been amazed at the power and effect the average citizen can have on the political system when they mobilize on a cause of this importance. Be it joining pro 2nd amendment organizations such as the NRA, SCOPE, etc, to calling...
  4. General Firearms
Hi All, New to the forum. I'm looking to buy my first gun and live in Westchester. Since I'm new to the area I was hoping some of you could recommend a decent gun retailer. I've read a number of articles online about gun store employees that are rude so I would like to stay clear of a store...
  5. Laws and Politics - Firearms/Self Defense/Weapons
We all know how easy it is to delete or ignore an email. Plus lawmaker's emails are set up to autoreply with cookie-cutter responses. I'd suggest picking up the phone and using your actual VOICE. I think its much more effective than signing a digital positon or firing off an email or two.
  6. Carry/Conceal
I finally got my pistol permit last month and purchased a Bersa Thunder 380. I would like to carry IWB but I don't have any experience with any holsters. I am also open to pocket carry but thepistol seems a little large for that.

I know this is primarily a firearm website but i think it would be cool to add an archery section. I know a lot of people thag would like to see that. I know there is other sited for that but why not include that in our community here. Im sure it would thrive. Maybe some others can give some...
  8. Off Topic Lounge
Maybe it would help if you had a link to what the site is about, sorta like a mission and vision statement, so new members can decide for themselves if this is the sort of place they would like to spend some time and contribute to the betterment of the site. It seems to have taken a turn for...
  9. Shooting Ranges
I'm currently a member at Rochester Rifle Club but am looking for a second club where I can shoot rifle/pistol/clay birds. I use to do a lot of archery too, so if that was something that is available that would be great too. I love the Rochester Rifle Club but being the size it is really limits...
  10. Off Topic Lounge
So LEOs get the thin blue line icon. How about turning it into a ribbon so that civilian members who support our LEO (and troops, of course) can wear with honor? I'll be the test monkey. Maybe we'll start a national trend, lol. Been noticing a lot of bashing in some threads lately. Willing to...

Can we get a "report to mods" option for individual posts? Or the thread itself? I do appreciate the "like" option...maybe next to that?
  12. Announcements and Site Help
How about A links page with links to gun manuals, instructional videos and write ups, reviews etc..
  13. Announcements and Site Help
Do you think it would be good to add a link to "today's posts" next to the "new posts" under "What's new?" tab? Working off a Blackberry or other hand-held device is a PIA, and often times alot of unread posts get by passed by the "New Posts" query. I guess the programming assumes that if you...

Admins what do you guys think about adding a chat box....ive been on other forums that have a seperate chat box so you can shoot the **** and chat with out taking it to the fourms. its usually a cheap upgrade to what ever software your running, a site im an admin on uses vbulletin and its really...

To avoid fiascoes like this I think the five post rule should be scrapped: http://www.nyfirearms.com/forums/firearms-sale/17243-trade-ak47.html Over at the KTOG (Kel-Tec) site, they have a good system for their "Trading Post". You need 25 posts to enter that area, and it doesn't even show up...

Since our weekend cabin was robbed several weeks ago, my wife has become a little more proactive in the self-defense dept. She's familiar with safe firearm handling, I've taught her what I know. She doesn't have a pistol permit, we're going to stick with a long gun. The 12gauge is not an...

Not a huge deal, but it would be cool to see what comments contributed to our karma. I had someone applaud me and I have no idea why. Keep it anonymous but it would be nice to know what comments someone found helpful or absurd.
