It's been a long 5 months but i finally got my Rockland County pistol permit.
Here's the tricky question.
If I have a sportsman/residence permit from a county in NY like Rockland, meaning it really should be a CCW but they only allow you to keep it in your house and at the range.
This bill has been written plainly and is short and easy to read. It is currently in the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, and Investigations. Trey Gowdy (SC) leads that subcommittee this year...
Great article from Bearing Arms...
If you're following any of the various media outlets this morning, you're probably aware that the U.S. Supreme Court has just extended gay marriage to all 50 states.
You can peruse the full ruling here, but the meat of the activist Court's over-long decision...
Call and write your U.S. Senator and Representative to support Senate Bill 498 and House Bill 986. Both of these bills require that all states that issue CHL/CCWlicenses/permits to recognize and grant reciprocity. These bills are before the 2015-2016.
I think that the momentum behind both...
Cornyn introduces Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2014
This would be a welcome piece of legislation. It is so absurd that your rights stop and start when crossing an imaginary line on the ground. I'm headed to PA this weekend and will be going unarmed as I'm not "authorized" to carry a...
New Ruling in Pennsylvania on Reciprocity and Second Amendment | Shall Not Be Questioned
"In Pennsylvania Superior Court, the case is Commonwealth v. McKown. The court rules that Pennsylvania residents are required to have a license to carry issued by Pennsylvania, and that residents cannot...
Is there any chance to make some inroads on CCW reciprocity now that part time residents can apply for pistol permits? I know the answer is likely to be, "they can just apply for CCW in NY" but as of last week the answer was, "how can we honor CCW when they can't even have a pistol?". Thoughts?
I know some of the forum members have Non resident permits from PA.
I have in addition to my NY Permit Non resident permits for Arizona and Utah. I never considered a PA permit because I was covered in PA by my AZ and UT permits.
I thought I read on the forum recently that PA was no longer...
Does any one know where this billis going after it passed in the congress last year? I 'm shure it's up the the democrapcic senate now.I called my senator this afternoon and called to late to find anything out. Their offce was closed, I'll call them again tomorrow. It would be nice if this...
I saw there was a thread on here from a while ago talking about what states the NYS pistol license was reciprocal in. I wanted to take that a step further. I have a pistol license issued by Nassau County with the Target/Hunting restriction. In the states that accept the NYS license, do they also...

On November 6, 2012 Americans will go to the polls to vote for the next President of the United States of America. Either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney will win this contest.
It has become cliché, but this really is the most important election in...
I know I ask this before, and someone was kind enough to post the map,but Im looking again and can not find the post that shows states that honor outher state permits. Could the mod. maby post it again and make the thing a sticky??
NRA-ILA | National Right to Carry Reciprocity Act of 2012 introduced in U.S. Senate
Just introduced today by Senators Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) . Any chance this can get some traction?
I know that they have a ton of Utah/Florida permit classes in the area you can take, because NY has no reciprocity with other states. My only question is would it be easier to apply for non resident pennsylvania permit(if you still get reciprocity privileges) or not? I know PA and the Utah/Fla...
