As I read the law the states definition of a C&R is 50 years or order and no modern reproduction exists. For now I am focusing on rifles. Pistols will be a much larger list. Many qualified subguns mags are available but pretty much worthless as there are very few SA subguns. Feel free to...
  5. General Firearms
I browse the magazine aisles at the supermarket and always enjoy the usual Handgunner or Guns & Ammo. There is the odd occasion when I come across the Solder of Fortune magazines with classified ads like the decommissioned russian aircraft carriers. One thing about most magazines is that the...
  6. Rifles
Hey, I was looking for some magazines for a mini 14 and stumbled upon one made by tapco that has a five round capacity but is the same size as a 30rd capacity mag. Anybody know if I could legally purchase and use? I think it's ok due to the 5rd capacity but I'm just not sure.

Sorry if this was covered in another thread as I looked and didnt see anything. If you have an sks rifle with one of those 20rd stock fixed type magazines, is it ok under the Unsafe act for non registration and now, with Skertny's ruling on magazines and number capacity, does it mean you can load...
  8. The AR-15
Sorry if this is a repost, I searched a little and didn't see this. I'm planning on having some AR MR2's around for possible future use and have a question for anyone who knows. If a magazine is non-detachable (unless the gun is disassembled), is there a limit on the number of rounds it can...
  9. Accessories and Gear
I'm not that familiar with the new Safe Act laws when it comes to having accessories shipped online. I know firearms and ammo need to be shipped to a FFL but can I have an extra clip shipped directly to my house or does that have to go to a dealer as well? I do know it can only be a 10 round max.
  10. Shotguns
Law exempts shotguns that use detachable magazines that do not accept more than 5 rounds of ammunition. So for instance This shotgun is standard with 5 but there are 10 round magazines available for it. Now this shotgun is brand new and the manufacturer only makes 5 round magazines...

For obvious reasons, I'd prefer this didn't turn into a picture thread Just wondering how everyone organizes their handgun/rifle magazines. Do you guys just toss'em into a gun cabinet, or has anyone found a clever way to organize them? Stacking them on top of each other tends to end up like a...

I'm looking to purchase the Springfield XDM in 9mm, but it only comes with 19 round mags. Anyone know of an FFL that will let you permanently modify the mags at their place so you can take the gun home? There are mag blocks out there and I have no problem epoxying or plastic welding the block...

Quick question, prior to 1994, higher capacity (10+) magazines were legal to posses and purchase that were manufactured prior to 1994. (i.e if you bought a 13 round mag in 2000 but it was made prior to 1994, it was legal to purchase) Now with unsafe act, they are completely out of the question...

I bought a Saiga IZ-132 today which I told her came with a 10 round magazine. Well unknown to me ( until she told me after the fact ) that she purchased two 30 round magazines online. I told her no you cannot do that, and that they are illegal in NYS. I told her that she needed to cancel that...

Hey guys, a good friend of mine who lives out in the south west area just offered me his heap of 10 round aluminum AR magazine. I believe they are ASC's. New in package. He's got 500 to get rid of. He used to do a lot of gun sales/transfers and what not. I'd be willing to sell them 10 for...

Just seen on the news one of the New California Gun Bills they are trying to pass wants to ban Semi-Auto Guns that accept a detachable magazine. I have not found a copy of the bill, but makes me wonder if that includes a Ruger 10/22?
