I was told that ny gun stores are selling hi-point 995 wich I thought were made illegal because of the safe act. I was told there legal because the magazine goes into the pistol grip so it's technically a magazine well like a pistol and not a banned feature. Any truth to this? Does it make the...

Anyone know of any way to modify the HiPoint Carbine to make it safe act compliant...I really don't like the idea of registration but I also don't like the idea of being a criminal....Don't know which is worse?????

Just wondering if this firearm is legal to own now?

My LGS has a lightly used Hi-Point .380 in the case for $140. It seems like a nice pistol for plinking and whatnot, but are these any good? I haven't heard anything about them. Anyone own one that can attest to it's quality?

I know some of this will overlap a previous question on this forum but I have some other questions. I, i'm sure like many others, am very confused about many parts of this new safe act. One problem I have right now is I am very interested in finding a reasonable priced 9mm rifle. I would ideally...

Quick question and a statement. Can we still legally buy Hi-point Carbines in NY? When I went to NY State's page the one that you answer questions on if it is an assault weapon, the answer came back no it is not. I have heard both ways, the Buffalo Gun Center is still selling them. If...

Hi, looking for your take on if a Hi-Point carbine will need to be registered. It has a pistol grip, but no flash hider. I was wondering if the magazine being inserted into the pistol grip makes a difference.

I saw on Hi-Points facebook page that they will be introducing 7 round magazines for those of us in NY to comly with the Un-Safe Act.
  9. Laws and Politics - Firearms/Self Defense/Weapons
Based on what I can see from the law. To be an assault rifle it must be semi auto capable of accepting a detachable magazine AND one of the evil features (pistol grip, fore grip, etc). Well since it is a Hi-point carbine semi auto with a detachable mag it is illegal under the law. However in...

I'd really like to get one to help start off my collection. However I wasn't able to get the one in 9mm that was on here due to no funds. However now I'm ready to get one and my local shop only has them in .40. I wanted a 9mm because it would be cheaper - would it be just as cheap to get a .40...

Picked up a Hi-Point 4595ts from one of my local gun stores last week. Put about 50 rounds through it and got it sighted in pretty well. Came with a bushnell red dot site, front handle and the pointless laser(haven't figured out how it's useful yet). Also came with two extra clips and the clip...

The Brady Bunch has won this round in court, and a Buffalo man can proceed with his lawsuit against Hi-Point. I'm sorry for his suffering, but I hope his case goes nowhere. Just a reminder that the antis will never give up and must be opposed and crushed at every opportunity. NY Appeal Court...

Compared to most people on this forum I guess I would have to say I probably make one of the lowest salaries on here lol, that being said I have heard of Hi-Point pistols, and I have no idea what to think. I kinda like their ugly look, HOWEVER I have heard stories ranging from: "I threw it off...

Have not got a chance to shoot it yet. A co-worker of my buddy is a dealer and we had a chance to buy these for $118 plus tax so I figured I might as well jump on it. Seems like a decent gun, Grips are horrible slippery plastic so I bought a hogue handall grip for $11 off ebay. Anyone ever shoot...

curious to see what you guys have to say about the two. a friend of mine had a hi-point 995 (the older style not the 995ts), it was a joy to shoot, never had a problem with it. and it was just about dead accurate at 50yrds. lately ive been looking into buying either a hipoint 4595. the .45acp...

Here is my new Hi-Point 995 9mm Carbine I will be the first to say it is a Ass Ugly gun but for the sticker price of $259 it leaves room to make it custom and much better. Mods: I started by removing the stock front and rear sights and the barrel weaver rail. Added a NCstar tactical light...

So....I had my heart set on the Hi-Point Carbine, but then I started looking at that Walther G22. I appreciate the input from everyone on the Hi-Point. Having said that, would the Walther be worth the extra coin over the Hi-Point? They're both uglier than sin, which I like, but I can't decide.

Any thoughts on this? The reviews on it seem to be pretty good. I can get it for anywhere between $250 and $350, depending on model, and it shoots cheap 9MM ammo. I'm seriously looking at this.
