Picked up a contender this evening at my LGS. Its got a 44 mag octagon barrel with a muzzle break and what i guess is a choke? Can anyone explain what the choke is for? I know they make 44 mag shot shells so i'm assuming its for those but anything eles i need to know about it?? Thanks
Thought it would be fun to be able to shoot a shot shell with my T/C Contender.
I found a 10" 44 mag barrel that had been reamed to accept a 3" .410 shot shell.
It has a choke to stop the shot pattern spin.
I'm going to paper test #5 and 000 to see if this barrel has any practical use...

Pick up an older T/C Contender with a 30-30 barrel on it. When I went down to the sheriffs station to get my permit ammended, I noticed on my permit has the caliber of 30-30 on there. So I have 2 questions:
1. What happens when I buy another barrel? Do I have to have it added to my permit?
