Ok, I need some quick Guidance and I know this has been discussed before but i am a little confused on the process. It has changed since the last time I purchased a handgun thanks to the current laws. I have an opportunity to purchase the following handguns; 44 Mag Super Blackhawk 45 LC...

Theoretically if the AR2MR2 is "legal for safe act" then that is all that needs to be added to an AR15 with all the evil features so you don't have to register it? Basically adding it to a preban configured AR?? Also what about the spur?? With the Spur there is no pistol grip so is that good to...
  3. Pistol Permits
Hi Folks, It's been a while since I've logged on, probably because I'm waiting for my pistol permit approval to go through. Then again, that's no excuse NOT to discuss my current .22 Ruger rifle :ooh:. Anyway, I applied on April 23, 2013 for my pistol permit and I've noticed that a few people...

Hi everyone! I'm new here to this forum, but want to thank everyone here for what has been a great resource for information. I'm very happy I've found this place! I initially posted this question in another thread about my filing for my NYC Premises Permit, but thought it would be better to...

I guess my concern starts with if ny will consider an en bloc a detatchable mag- we all know it is not but logic is not part of this obviously. For the sake of argument let us say it is. It would seem removing the bayonet lug would even things out- how about some opinions. My hope is to add a...

Ok, I have seen 20rd box mags for the mauser (k98). I see antique mags are legal. Is a fixed mag, of more then then legal? Or do I need to register my k98 as an assault weapon? This is a serious question, though the thought of filling out the aw form for a k98 makes me smile.

I know about the Remington plant in Illion, and how they were afraid of losing their jobs because of the SAFE Act and that they were considering moving. We were all in support of Remingon doing what they had to do. I also know they were at the rally in Albany. Now I find out that they just...

I am trying to better understand the Penal Law 400.00 as it applies to carrying a licensed handgun....it appears that the law allows for "local ordinances" to supercede the state laws. eg; Buffalo, Rochester and Albany all have their are own requirements. Section #6 reads as follows: Any...

I am confused with all the talk about background checks for private sales. Wouldn't that be a good thing? That way you know that "Joe Schmo" buying your rifle can legally own a firearm. I don't see how everyone thinks this is registering, we do it already when we buy a gun from a dealer...
  12. Carry/Conceal
I am reading this thread and I am confused as a first time hand gun owner. When can I carry my pistol and when can't I? My permit is not a carry concealed, but many people on here are carrying... What are the rules?

If I install this on my previously compliant rifle, have I effectively circumvented the stupid registration and essentially have a non evil rifle?? http://www.weaponeer.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12902&PN=1 If this has been covered, I am sorry
  15. Laws and Politics - Firearms/Self Defense/Weapons
I've seen some conflicting discussion here on this topic. I read the law and there does not seem to be anything on the sale of components like primers, powders, etc. Then, I read here that the ATF has classified these as ammo and, therefor, they will need a background check for purchase which...

Interested in a Ruger 22/45 Lite. The LITE has a threaded barrel and Rugers have 10 round mags. Dealer has it in stock. So can I purchase it or better yet can the dealer sell it to me as of today? Did the law start yesterday as Cuomo signed it or does it start 60 or 90 days from yesterday as...
