  1. Laws and Politics - Firearms/Self Defense/Weapons
922R states It shall be unlawful for any person to assemble from imported parts any semiautomatic rifle or any shotgun which is IDENTICAL to any rifle or shotgun prohibited from importation under section 925 (d)(3) of this chapter as not being particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to...

So I just bought a Benelli M4. Beautiful gun. Italian. So reading through a 922r summary, it is illegal if it contains more than 10 imported parts from a specified list unless it was assembled by manufacturer licensed in US. It seems it has more than 10 specified parts so I'm assuming its...

So I just bought a Benelli SuperNova Tactical and I find out it falls under the 922r complaint rule...just my luck. That means I'm going to have to hunt down and spend a bunch of money just to make it complaint if I just want to add a magazine extension.... I hate this law.... doesn't even...
  5. Shotguns
No need to explain 922r compliance. I want to add the larger size mag tube (not the extender for the tube). Just wondering which parts are available that are US made to switch out to get back to that magic number 10. Is it possible with this firearm?
  6. Laws and Politics - Firearms/Self Defense/Weapons
Alright im getting really confused just when i think i have all the laws i over think it and get scared! I own a norinco mak 90 sporter. It has a collapsible stock which I've pinned because i got nervous. From what I've heard all norincos are pre banned they didn't import any after the AWB so i...

Title says it all.I relentlessly searched around and cannot find any definitive answers. This section of the law has me very apprehensive to do a conversion on my rifle here in ny. Why would it (nys law, not federal) not apply to a saiga rifle in nys like everyone is telling me? Because federal...

I know this has been covered before but with the law being so vague I wanted NYF input for extra guidance, After gutting my 10 round AK magazine that I had (came with my AK rifle) and alot of trial and error using a few bits of post ban (I assume) metal SKS magazine combined with the AK...

So here's how this is. My father has a SKS. He's had it forever. However I haven't seen in probably 15 years. My data on it is non-existant (i need to get over there and check it out/take pictures). I couldnt even give you a model. What I'm curious about is 922r compliance. I've done a lot...
  10. General Firearms
Yep, any mag over 10 rounds requires the gun to be fully 922r compliant. If you replace the follower and floorplate of the mag w/ something US made then that counts as two 922r parts. I don't think the springs count, just bodies, floorplate, and follower.
  11. Rifles
So I went to the range yesterday with my sks and it slam fired. I want to get the Murray firing pin so it doesnt happen again. Now if I change out the pin do I have to get 4 other parts that are usa made? if so which ones are the easiest and cheapest to replace?
  12. Rifles
So I got that SKS (as mentioned in another thread), and currently I'd like to change the stock. I know that there's the 922r compliance issues, but is that only if I change it to a pistol grip stock? I'd ideally like to put a nice laminated wood thumbhole stock on it, particularly this...
  13. Rifles
OK - I'm venturing into an area of rifles which I am rather unfamiliar with and wanted to know if anyone has some pointers on 922r compliance. I recently acquired a Chinese SKS, which I was going to leave in factory condition, but I'm now getting the itch to mod it out a bit. I've gotten...

I'm thinking of picking up a saiga and adding this extendable skeleton stock to it Saiga Extendable Stock Part #SAI-STK-EXT Since the stock does telescope but does not have a SEPARATE pistol grip and the saiga does not have the other verboten toys (Bayonet mount, Flash suppressor, Threaded...
