  1. Pistol Permits
I see the new big thing is 80% pistol frames. Looked into it and think I would be cool to make one but can you put it on a permit? Can you go to the ATF and get a serial number then put it on the frame?

I couldn't find an answer to this question by searching the forum -- although the issue may well have come up. Has anyone actually submitted a registration form for a gun they built using a self-made receiver (i.e. an 80% receiver you finished yourself)? I have a couple I need to register...

I see these for sale and see jigs for completing them for sale all over the net. I understand that they are not considered firearms by the ATF so there is no serial numbers on them. What is the benefit of completing it yourself?

Jut trying to get a feel for everyone's opinion here. From what I understand after talking to a few people, it IS legal in NY to build an AR from an 80% lower, with the firearm remaining unserialized and unregistered. Can anyone here confirm this? Going forward, if it were legal, what parts...

I have a "preban" (pre 2013) 80% lower I have been working and I after reading the law I have determined I would like to finish it as a pistol lower. Does anyone know how one would do the paperwork to register it as a pistol? I know I need to put on a serial number and manufacturer info on it...

Now Playing - WBEN Seems a little pricey especially with all the rocket hub projects going for 25-50 bucks but the Obama YouTube video is humorous. The trigger, hammer and selector holes seem really easy to mess up without a jig.. Just thought I would share.
