    Default My latest acquisition...

OK, I am stoked. I received a phone call this afternoon from a lgs that they had just taken in something that I should hurry in to take a look at. This is the reason I patronize the lgs' whenever I can. If you establish good relationships, they become your bird dog!

I decided to not take it with me since i wanted to hang on to my pickup coupons. You never know what I may find tomorrow! LOL

I will substitute actual pics when I pick it up Tuesday.

I love my High Standards, but could not resist this Browning Medalist. Gun is in mint shape and is complete with the Browning case, three barrel weights, tool and shell holder!

Ya know what, Monroe County kills impulse buying. You have to plan ahead when buying a pistol here, I wish they would just fork over our coupons ahead of time!

I agree. I had my permit for twenty years in MC. What a pain in the a$$. Advance coupons are like crack cocaine for someone like me though. Immediate gratification! It about killed me to not take it home, but it was snowing so that helped. It gets a little noisy when I shoot in my living room.

Beautiful Medalist Terry! I had the joy of shooting one at a college sponsored marksmanship class a while back, and it was a dream to handle.

    Congrats!

The last time my brother went to the Schuyler County clerk for his coupon, she asked him before he left if he wanted another one. She said you never know what you'll find! Oh how I wish I could find a place to rent in Schuyler County! I miss living there.

At the risk of sounding completely stupid. whats this this coupon thing that your all talking about?? Do you mean that you have to pick up your amendment coupon prior to purchasing a firearm?? Are you limited to a certain amount monthly?yearly?

My county, Steuben, will issue me up to two advance pickup coupons at a time, which are good for ten days. They allow me to purchase and take immediate possession of a handgun. I then have up to ten days to visit my county clerk and have it added to my permit.

The make it convenient when you are roaming far from home, or at gun shows. Saves you the return trip.

aah,got it. Not a bad idea! Here in Onondaga I have to drive down to the permit office with my purchase receipt, pick up my amendment coupon, they put the gun on my permit right then and there and then drive back to the store to pick up the gun. WHEW

    Terry,
The next house you have built needs to have a bullet trap as a fire place and have a living room 100 yards long. It would save you needing to build the range you have talked about.

Just saying you should think about it my friend......

He should buy that missile silo in the Adirondacks. They dropped the price from 4 mil to $750,000. It's a buyer's market!

Here's a good writeup on the Medalist...

    The Browning Medalist | Reviews | Guns & Ammo | Page 3

This quote made me laugh and cry at the same time...

"I remember well when the Medalist hit the market. I was in college and didn't have enough spending money left over to buy much ammo for one, let alone the gun itself, which was going for the princely sum of $120. But that didn't stop my longing."

In Broome we have to wait for the judge to sign the amendment. Usually takes about 2 weeks. It's a painful wait...
