    Default Benelli MR1 Thoughts?

One of my buddies sons was interested in some guns he was doing some clay shoots at a freinds farm some range but not all the time.
Today he comes home with a Benelli MR1 so I wanted to know some thoughts about the rifle and if you would go a different route and the cost of this was out of this world and I couldnt justify the price he thought he could.

I think they're pretty cool. If you can afford one, by all means.

    More like Beretta and AR.

They are cool looking, they have a piston based system, and all of the reviews say they are pretty reliable.

For my money though, I'd rather have an AR: Customizable, easily replaced parts, and much more affordable.

Not what I would choose, but I am sure it will serve him well.

I was thinking of trading/selling my bushmaster AR-15 for one. With the new laws coming, I was thinking of getting this one.

I've shot one numerous times and I absolutely, positively love it. Is it "customizable" like an AR? No, but it's a fantastic shooter and it's on my want list.

Too late, laws are already here.

Wouldn't the configuration with the ComforTech stock be legal?

Depends on wether or not the forearm is considered a barrel shroud I would think.

The MR1 in the CA config is legal. Great target and vairmit rifle, just that one needes time to learn the safety and mag system. Sort of on the heavy side at a 5 round mag about 7.8 pounds.

Basically an M4 converted to shoot 5.56. I doubt anything on it will break. Little pricey but I would like to have one myself.
