    Default 9mm black rifle info

Hey, I was recently at the Brockport Conservation Club and met a nice gentleman and his son while I was sighting in my new Center Point scope.
He had a BEAUTIFUL 9mm black rifle, and told me about it, but my short-term memory isn't what it used to be (bad case of C.R.S.).

Would anyone happen to know what kind of rifle it was (or better, if the owner happens to be on this forum)?
He said it cost him somewhere around $500 I think.

once I get a little more surplus funds, I'd love a black rifle, and one that uses the same ammo as my Ruger would make ammo purchases easier.

Black rifle as in AR, or just as in a black colored rifle?

For $500 the only things I can think of right off the top of my head are Beretta CX4s or a $500 AR upper in 9mm. I don't think you can get a whole 9mm AR for $500.

(CX4 a bit more than that new, but maybe he got it used, or for a really good price new...)

I was thinking CX4 as well. Only other thing would be a hi point.

Ruger also made a 9mm carbine for a short period of time.

Yep. I think it was the PC-9 and was about $500 or so.

Marlin Camp 9 is a nice little carbine, but it's not black.
My mind is the weapon, everything else is merely an accessory.

I have a Beretta Storm CX4 in 9mm. You can get one or convert one to accept 92 mags. Makes for a lot of fun with preban 30 round mags!

    Ok....it looked like the Hi-point 995TS.
Thanks for all the info. now I need to find another source of income.

    edit:
Hmm...looking at their site, it says the Suggested Retail for the basic 995Ts is only $274.
This might be easier than I thought!

That was my first thought too but I don't think anyone would describe the Sub2K as "beautiful"!

Ditto on default's post, I have seen HP's go from $175-200 for stockers, and maybe a tad more depending on what kind of neat attachments and accessories are with it. They shoot pretty well, too. I regret selling mine, and if another comes up for a good price I'll probably buy it.

What would you consider a good price?
Cabelas has them new for roughly $249, and that's the newer model with the skeleton stock.

Their "Federal/State Firearms Regulations" page is a little confusing, however. Are they trying to say I can't buy one from them since I'm in NY?

I really don't like the new stock, the old ugly style works for me. I've seen them go in good shape for $150 or so. That's about as far as I'd go. Cabela's, like most online places, has to Lawyer Proof their sales, including magazine capacities, muzzlebrakes, etc., so they make it easier on themselves by just not selling NY, California, NJ, and so on.
