Has anyone with a restricted NY permit obtained their NH non-resident using either a PA, FL or other unrestricted non-resident permit?
The NH instructions say that is allowed but wondering if anyone has actually done it.

You will have NO problems whatsoever. Last time I talked with my person at NHSP (two weeks ago), they were turning them around in 10-14 days.
Drop your application in the mail with a check for $100 and copies of the permits you hold, and you'll get a NH permit in the mail in a couple weeks.
In NH, you only need a permit if you're going to carry concealed. You can open carry without any type of permit. Keep in mind that a loaded handgun inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle is considered concealed.

I need to get a NH permit. ME is also on my list.
I wish I had been able to get a NH permit before they raised the non-resident price but I didn't have my NYS full carry at the time and was told I needed it before applying.

they increased the price of the NH, but also added a year. my last one that expired 5/26/2010 was for 5/26/2006 to 5/26/2010, 4 years.
the new one I just got last week is good until 5/26/2015, good for 5 years. but they misspelled the name of the state (minus the "p"), so I got a letter saying a new one is forthcoming....
Thanks. Right now I only have NY and sent of PA (Centre County) yesterday. Once I get PA back I'll send in NH.
So besides the PA permit I should still send a copy of my NY permit along as well even though it's restricted?
I'm not sure I'll ever use it but it can't hurt to have. I used to go to NH a lot when I lived in RI but not so much any more. Plus I'd have to drive through MA with a firearm which I'd prefer to avoid.
Next on my list is CT and FL, but both those requie prints and I keep forgetting to call to have the CT papers sent to me. I should probably try for ME as well. That would over me everywhere but MA & RI.

I got my NH about a year before the price increase. Mine is good for five years.
ME is $60 for four years. The background investigation is a little more than NH does, but still nowhere as extensive as NY. They're a little farther out right now at 4-6 weeks.
It won't hurt you. New Hampshire is a shall-issue state. Unless you're on the naughty list somewhere, NHSP will issue the permit.
I'm in NH every couple weeks. I drive through MA each time, and I haven't a problem yet. As long as your gear is properly stowed and you conduct yourself appropriately, you won't have a problem either.

Thanks. I know someone who applied for his ME permit and they sent back his training cert and he had to put is birthday on it and have it initialed by the instructor. Do you know if that is common? I thought it was odd.
You hear so many stories out there it makes you wonder if MA is really that hard or if people are just idiots, glad to know responsible people have good experiences.I'm in NH every couple weeks.
