as soon as i read your post, i dashed to the mailbox with gusto...i recently applied back in mid-march. No such luck, the wait continues.

Lol no, it's only for range shooting and home.

you should call and check the status of your application. I did about 2 weeks ago and was told that it was approved on april 6th and I had my interview back in feb 21.

Agree. They did the same thing to my wife. Her permit was approved but License never sent a letter notifying her. Probably not a nefarious plot--just someone going on vacation.

Buy one. They're easily converted to the other. The G19 would be a little cheaper to shoot than the G23, ammo wise.

Isn't the frame on G19 thinner (width-wise) than G23? Are mags interchangable between two models? I have a G23 and absolutely love it. Does everything a defensive carry gun should do. That said, try as many as you can out and get what's best for you. If target is one of your main considerations and you will not be carrying on a regular basis, there are probably better guns out there that will still provide a great home defense gun. You're not likely to be winning any target competitions with a G23 as this isn't what the gun was designed for. Again, I love my G23 and would highly recommend it but my purpose is a great carry gun for self defense.
