Question Monroe county average pistol permit waiting period?

I submitted application Oct, 25 2011 and my references were contacted in early January. (It has been almost 5 months from submission)

I was just wanted to ping the group here to see what your actual waiting period for Monroe county was???

I am waiting patiently but, checking the mail like hawk...

I appreciate any and all feedback

Anywhere from 3-7 months currently seems to be the norm in Monroe County.

I applied in Feb '11, got in Sept '11

Someone posted on here recently they got it in like 4mo I believe, but Bob is pretty spot on with the range of time.

FWIW, I and my ref's were called in May I believe, about 3 mo after submission

I applied in March 2011 and got it just after Christmas. References were called in late May. Looks like they have processed 70 so far of the pile that applied in Oct, however there looks to still be alot from Aug and Sept that have yet to process. In my opinion your close, but they may focus on getting the previous caught up.

Submitted application 12/9/2011, references called 2/1/2012 and received unrestricted permit today 3/23/2012. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast it went, from what I hear they seem to be moving rather quickly lately.

if that is truly the case you really should give the clerks office a call and either RPD (if you're in the city) or the sheriff's office for everywhere else. You should've heard something at this point.

My paperwork took approx 10 Months, 3 Weeks, and 4 Days to go though. FAR too long for the investment of my $235.00 to help contribute to their new $50,000 Digital Fingerprint Machine! An additional Fingerprint charge that they have since removed after the machine had been paid for. So it should cost less overall now to get everything done.

NYS Law states that it is supposed to take a max of six months, and if it takes longer they are supposed to notify you. It took longer than six months, and they didn't notify me. I took a "Wait and See" approach to see how long the 'system' took to get it done without any pestering.

On the flip side a friend of mine pestered them after the six month timeframe, and had his by the 7th month. Of course, your mileage may vary!

I submitted mine in July of 2010 and didn't receive it until November 2011 so 16 months roughly. I live in the city and none of my references were called.

Zombie thread, which normally would be ok, but this specific topic changes often. There are newer threads with more accurate info.
