In NY, in just about every county, you must be a resident of said county (in mine it is 6 months or greater). Just curious to find out if anyone knows how they verify your residency?

On the app, you have to provide (I think) your last 5 addresses with dates. I would assume this is compared to a credit check/report.
Dutchess County does not specifically check the status of your residency. By application you certify to your residency. Falsify your application and you're subject to the penalties. The four required references must also swear to your residency. They would also be subject to the penalties of making false written statements.
In the town Of Colonie, Albany County, the investigator called my rental complexes office to ask if there were complaints about me, do I pay rent on time, so forth. He prob asked them length of time there also I guess.
Watering the Tree Of Liberty is not achieved by the killing of innocents, but by preserving the lives of those innocents with your own if necessary.
I was told in Chemung County it's 6 months. I've wondered the same thing about how they verify residency. I have been back to NY for over a year, although I just got my NY driver's license in February, so I was assuming I started counting my 6 months from the time I got my NY driver's license. I did register my car in NY last year. I live with a family member so I don't pay rent. But my mail is sent to that address. So legally it is my residence. I guess the only way to know is to take a trip to the licensing office and ask!
