Default NJ Gov to Honest Gun Owners: You're Potential Criminals/Threat to Public Safety

Corzine to Millions of Honest Gun Owners: You're Potential Criminals and a Threat to Public Safety

It's a common knowledge among vigilant gun owners and CCWers NJ is one of the most restrictive states in the nation when it comes to gun rights.

I vow to never visit Garden State as long as it treats citizens and visitors like slave-subjects with gun rights deliberately difficult to obtain, restricted and denied.

NJ is a "may issue" state, yet Ordinary Joe/Jane's CCW application is routinely denied except for some qualified judges, retired LEOs and those with connections i.e. "requirement" of power, prestige and wealth not unlike rare and elusive "unrestricted" carry NYC permit.

I know what a bunch of BS NJ is worst than our state of NY over there the only way to get a permit is to tell them that you know Tony Soprano ;D

Somebody in Vermont is laughing at all of us right now.
Any effort to rationalize the use of this revolver in a serious combative scenario is evidence of intellectual bankruptcy.

    So true.

NJ doesn't like hollow points either. They lock people up who have correct carry permits if HP ammo is found in the gun.

Because everyone knows over-penetration is a good thing, duh! ;D

Seriously, that is one of the dumbest firearm laws ever.

Isn't there law that it's an additional felony if you commit a crime using hollowpoints? I believe carry with HP bulelts is fine in NJ.

I have been warned for years to change out my ammo when travelling in NJ where the troopers do their thing. They will pull you over, give you a pass on the speeder but hammer you if they find HP ammo in your piece....and some do check. Never bothered to look it up in their penal law, just assumed since so many people have told me so... that its true. You can have it in your home for hunting, but only active duty NJ police can use it for hunting humans. Everyone else, even active duty cops from out of state must carry FMJ ammo.

This is assuming you acknowledge that you are carrying concealed... is it a law in NJ that you must notify them if pulled over for speeding?

Not that I know of, its just a better idea to let them know right off. If you don't and they end up finding out.... some might not be inclined to be very nice. The smart ones ask if you are carring a weapon before asking for a licence anyway.

If they ask you're required to answer, but otherwise I wouldn't provide that information. It can go either way (good/bad) if you let them know. If they ask you to step out of the car I might let them know, but it'd be on a case-by-case basis I guess and the situational reason why they are asking you to step out. It called carry-concealed for a reason...

LOL, if a cop directs you to exit your vehicle and you don't inform him that you have a gun under your shirt.....well thats not a smart thing to do. Not saying you can't play hide and seek with the guy in uniform. Just saying its not in your own best interest.

Like I said... it's a case-by-case basis and dependent on why you are asked to exit the vehicle. If you are pulled over for a simple traffic violation and asked to exit based on where you pulled being potentially unsafe then I would not provide the info.... but if you were pulled over for something other then speeding and asked to exit I would probably provide the info because the next question will probably be to search your vehicle and a pat-down.

You never truly know exactly why you are being pulled over, thats my point. His partner may have just been shot and you happen to fit the description. He might SAY you got pulled over for "whatever", but in reality he is a trigger pull away from pulling your plug. Its always a smart thing to tell the nice police officer that you have a gun. No matter what determination you may have come too.

I'm not questioning whether to be nice or not. Of course you are nice, police, curtious, etc... but letting them know can escalate a simple situation.

I think you missed my point.
