I stopped out after hearing good things from a friend, and he was right. I didn't check the gun prices, but I picked up a couple of holsters, and a used stock for my 10/22 for reasonable prices. He has a lot of NCstar scopes, AR parts, ammo, accessories, targets, and a huge selection of used rifles, shotguns, pistols and bins full of used parts. I think his hours are kinda whacky..like hes only open after 3pm or something, but it was well worth the visit.

Hmmmm? A local shop that I have never been to!
I just peaked at their web site and they appear interesting...

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge?
I wont recommend Tim's Guns in Elbridge every again. My father and I were out there looking to order a mini-14 and we were treated like shat. We have purchased a bunch of stuff from them and definitely did not expect them to be arrogant and rude to us. Never going there again....
I would like to plug my own business. I am small, a few rifles and or shotguns in stock at a time, ammo. I am building my business from my own capital. I can order whatever your pleasure is as far as long guns go. My handgun license is in my county judges hands, hopefully in mine next week. I have done business with a few members of the forum. I do transfers and as business grows my stock will grow. I would love to have you give me a try. I also am a new silver vendor to support this great site. It motivated me to get into the business of something I love. I want to give a shout out to Mike Centola and RVanO for great business advice.
K&K in Utica is a great shop. I've bought one gun from there so far and plan to go back. I forgot the guys name but hes super friendly, helpful and cheaper than Gander most of the time.
Anyone know about a good gun shop in NYC.
Here is a list of FFL's that came from Cheaperthandirt.com 25mile radius of Cicero(Syracuse):

Thruway Sporting Goods in Walden, NY - Orange Co, Probably the largest selection of handguns around. Plenty of rifles and shotguns too.
Lounsbury Sporting Goods, Middletown, NY - Older style shop, not a huge selection, but there is usually something different to see.
Frank's Guns and Tackle, Gloversville. Right on Rt.30. Great guys, good prices and lots of guns.

I recently stopped into Pro Gun to look for my first handgun. I was there for almost an hour, and was basically shown every model that could be a possibility for carrying concealed. I explained that I had relatively no experience with handguns, and they took the time to show me a large selection; they explained the various features, as well as the pros and cons of each. I can't comment on price since I haven't looked at other shops yet, but based on their customer service I'll definitely keep Pro Gun on my list of local shops.

Never go to Gander Mtn that place is terrible they charge top dollar for everything and give you nothing when you try to sell a fire arm.
+1 on Frank's Shooting Supply in Canastota. My brother and I have bought 7 long guns plus a bunch of supplies from Frank. Good prices and the service is excellent. I expect to be shopping for a pistol there in a few months when and if I get my permit.
