This is obviously a great idea. Just look at how well COBIS worked.

The NRA and a Republican both catching flak from a Democrat. Nothing new here.

    Bullet microstamping technology.
So are the bullets being microstamped now, or just the spent casings? For someone with such passion when it comes to preventing firearm based violence, she certainly doesn't do her homework. /sarcasm off

It’s the least we can do for our men and women in blue who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe
Considering COBIS used to suck up around $4 Million a year, how many more NYPD officers would that amount have provided?

Meng, who won four-way Democratic primary late last month, will call on Monday for the Legislature, and the federal government, to require gun-makers to use microstamping.
    LOL!

Last month, a law mandating microstamping passed the Democrat-controlled Assembly by a vote of 85 to 60 — a vote that, ironically, Meng missed because she was busy campaigning in the run-up to the primary.
??? I guess the microstamping bill isn't too important to her afterall.

Oftentimes, the only evidence left behind at the scene of a shooting are bullet shell casings
Not just shell casings, but "bullet shell casings." They are super special and require a new name, if they have been microstamped.

In summary, this lady is a goddamn idiot. I wish I could be this diluted and make six figures to boot.

That, and there's always more evidence than spent cases. If someone's using something other than a semi-auto (which 3 of 10 of the most used firearms were) then it won't necessarily even leave the cases behind. Then you're stuck having to rely on ballistics, DNA, witnesses, traffic cameras, that sort of thing.
