Brady Sends Obama Its Pre-Inauguration Wish List

No one, including the Brady Campaign, seriously believes that Barack Obama was elected president because of this support for gun control.

I like the term "standard defensive magazine" as opposed to "hi-cap magazines".

I know Obama isn't a gun lover, but he, himself has said very little in respect to gun control. I now his voting record shows that he usually goes the wrong way, but there are a lot of different subjects tied onto one bill, not just gun control.

I hope he understands that there are many problems in this country that need his attention, and that a gun control bill will do nothing but damage this nation further. We need to focus on fixing the downward spiral that we're in. I can only hope that he sees that gun control is way down on anyone's lists except for Brady. For me, that shows how ignorant Brady is, to think that guns are the big issues. But I'm not in the political light, so what do I know?!

I'm a firm believer that the one strong US domestic industry is the firearms industry! Where else can you buy something and accessories for and they all say "Made in USA" and they're quality and inexpensive? I think that the latest Brady list would cripple yet another US industry.

Besides the fact that there's millions of new firearms owners, and other firearms owners that are armed to the TEETH. I'm hoping this instills some fear in our gov't, just like the forefathers intended.

Yeah the AWB is already permanent here. I don't want them to repeal the Tiahrt act though. I think it's a privacy issue.

I cannot ever imagine the legislature repealing it in my lifetime (if even and beyond). The only hope I see is a Federal court overturning it on Second Amendment grounds but even that is a long shot. Probably the only other situation is a total collapse of our country/society where our current governments disappear. That could be due to a devastating foreign/terrorist attack on our country, a cataclysmic natural disaster or just a complete total breakdown in the government structure. In that case, most laws would be null and void anyhow since there would be no one to enforce them. Those who had the foresight to bury/hide their weapons would be in the best position at that point.
