During second reading in the state Assembly on April 22, an anti-gun amendment was added to Assembly Bill 282. This amendment would leave the amount charged for the Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit renewal fee to the discretion of the issuing authority. This could potentially leave many permit holders unable to renew their permits due to financial hardship. The current renewal fee is $25. The NRA opposes AB 282 unless this amendment is removed.
