The MDTS Combative Carbine Skills curriculum is designed forthe new rifle owner, individuals who have owned a rifle but never attended formal training as well as the seasoned operator. A solid grounding in safety and fundamentals of gun handling is presented with a heavy emphasis on the student’s ability to manipulate the carbine platform while multi-tasking or under stress. This is a fast paced, challenging course.

Equipment: A serviceable carbine to include M4, AR15, AK47 or pistol caliber rifle, a minimum of 3 magazines, 500+ rounds rifle ammunition eye and ear protection, pistol and minimum of 2 magazines (if you own a pistol), appropriate clothing for weather, water, hat with brim, optional equipment- sling, gloves & knee pads.
*A pistol is not required to attend this course.

*NOTE If you have a .22 conversion kit for your carbine you can bring that kit and use it during this course. But, please be advised you still need a minimum of 200 rounds of regular ammunition which you will be shooting.

Optional equipment:
Load bearing vest, sling, knee pads, sun screen

Folks,
I would like to make the small observation that there is a 300 yard range at Franklins. Not too many of these in the area.

I suspect that you may get to hit some steel at 200 and 300 yards in this class. With Chris and I offering gentle encouragement about your marksmenship while doing so
