Default Just some of what the wife and I did a couple weekends ago...

This was my zero paper. Finally hit paper after 2 adjustments, then just to check I aimed at the bottom left for the last 3 shots. Apparently I can aim pretty well with the 870 as well because I only took one shot at the bottom left from 100 and darn near hit center of it!

So after squeezing out only 12 rounds on my brand new VTR, it was time to teach the wife to shoot... At first she was pretty sporadic, and I had to teach her the concepts of squeeze don't pull, and do so when on your exhale with a slight pause as you squeeze. To my surprise, she did exceptionally well! The center blew out after she picked up the 12 gauge, so I set up one last challenge for her after the paper targets...

And here was her final challenge from 100 yards... And she did this on her second shot too!!!

I read somewhere, years ago, that women have the capacity to be better marksmen than men because they have better control of their breathing.

No they do not have to fight the macho, ubermale, alpha male, cowboy, high speed low drag syndrome. They have nothing to prove just relax and shoot. A beginner female generally has no bad shooting habits and with quality instruction listens and learns.

    Dear Penthouse,
Enclosed is my Wife's target. JACKPOT!!

I bring my wife to the range but I am not convinced she truly enjoys it. I think she is just happy it is something we can do together. I can't take up her hobbies ... I hate shoe shopping!

So we went out shooting again this weekend, and I hate to admit this, but my wife kicked my butt again... And I just bought a higher powered scope! I will post up some pics tomorrow, but I need time to recover from the beating she gave me...

This past weekend. Don't know what was what, but I know I attempted to hit the center of each target... Had a couple tight groupings, but it was my first day and adjustments were kinda weird since I've never really used a scoped rifle before. Wife is bottom sheet and I am top, and I just fully realized how bad she out shot me...

First rule of thumb, never teach your wife to shoot. my wife's a better shot too, but at least your hitting the paper cause I can't hit anything lately. Did you change up your firearm? Compared to your last batch, looks like you used a different caliber.

Yeah, she won't let it go either hahaha. Didn't change caliber, still .308, but I think the last rounds were 145 gr and these were 140. Don't know how much of a difference but now that I compare them the reactions from the rounds seem less on these latest ones. No idea why...

My first wife always shot better than I did. She said the key to her success was she imagined that the target was a pervert trying to get her.

Take the chick's shooting at the end of the day......That way most of the hot air is gone, allowing for better accuracy......LOL.....But then again maybe not,do they ever run low ??

My girlfriend and I spent our first date at a range on Long Island. After she hit the bullseye with a 12ga slug at 100 yards a WWII vet came up to me, pat me on the shoulder and said "listen son, that girl's a keeper."

    Great post OP.

My step-sister is a Ssgt. in the USAF. Her pistol accuracy is laughable, but she is dead on with a rifle, carbine or otherwise. She's also a qualified gunner on the .50 in the HH60 Pavehawk. Ask her what she wants for her birthday though...
