Default New to New York With Some Questions

Hi, guys. I am moving to Albany this fall with some firearms and want to know how to make them legal. Can you help me out with the following questions?

    1. For post-ban AKs/ARs (post- September 1994 manufacture) what needs to be done to:
-Muzzle breaks-->weld on or just attach with loctite?
-Folding/collapsible stocks-->weld or add washer nut or some other piece of hardware to prevent them from being minimized?

    2. Pre-ban (pre-9/94 manufacture) ARs/AKs are legal for purchase, correct? They can have bayonet lugs, folding/collapsible stocks, flash hiders, etc. from what I understand.

    3. Purchasing long guns can be done face-to-face with another NYS resident. I have heard that one can go to a state contiguous with NYS and buy (or have a resident from such a state come to NYS) for face-to-face purchases. Are these all true?

    Thanks for your help!

No real ruling by NY state, but Fed AWB before it sunset was weld (and pin), no Loc-Tite or JB Weld.

    Yup.

Yes, you can go to a contiguous state and purchase long guns. Yes, you can face to face, even pistols, as long as you adhere to the rules. (Pickup coupon, both parties have permits, etc.)
